Rashid Mehmood (2023) argues that the digital era Presents various Challenges for the PR industry. He stated that one of the need is to stay up-to-date with the new technologies and social media platforms.Another challenge is the fact that PR professionals must always ensure that they gather in controlled data appropriately. So that their data privacy and security does not end up in the wrong hands. Moreover, they should also ensure that their communication channels are secure and protected from hackers.

The speed at which information travels

The other important challenge that PR professionals cannot handle is the rate at which information travels online .False information or negative information Can spread quickly throughout the social media platforms which immediately tarnishes the organisations reputation and name way before PR practitioners can respond or even come up with a strategy to solve the crisis that has taken place. PR professionals must always stay on the lookout (always know what is trending in the social media platforms ) and have a crisis management plan in order to manage crisses on time.
